- What is DCCE?
-
Having originated in the late 1980s by two moms looking to save a little money and encourage recycling, the Durham Children’s Clothing Exchange (DCCE) is a twice-yearly consignment sale for children's clothing, toys, and equipment. Some teen wear is available.
We sell spring and summer clothes during our spring sale in March or April, and fall and winter clothes during our late summer sale in August or September.
The sale begins on a Saturday and spans three or four days. Many items are generally sold at reduced price during the last one or two days.
Clothing and other items are collected two or three weeks before the sale begins. We aim to sell only good or excellent quality items. Stained, torn, or dated clothing, etc. is not accepted.
Teen wear should be in Junior sizes only.
- Participating in DCCE
- You can participate in DCCE as a seller and/or a buyer. You do not have to consign items in order to buy at the sale.
Sellers generally receive 50% of the selling price of their items. As a seller, you may choose whether to let any unsold items be placed in the reduced-price sale or not. You can also choose whether to retrieve your unsold items, or allow us to donate them to a local charity.
